Rahmatullah Nabil: The third Doha meeting, a tragedy for Afghanistan, and regional efforts are fruitless.
Rahmatullah Nabil, former head of Afghanistan’s National Security, has criticized that the third Doha meeting has led to regional power struggles and is not in the interest of the Afghan people. He stated on the X platform: “If it’s not under a half-full cup, then what has led the United Nations to compromise its fundamental principles in dealing with this group?”
According to Nabil, the Doha meeting under Khalilzad’s leadership and its follow-ups represent proxy dialogues with other groups. He called on women and human rights activists to sever ties with the United Nations due to their absence from this meeting.
The third Doha meeting, managed by the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, will commence tomorrow and last for two days. The Taliban delegation, led by Zabihullah Mujahid, will participate in this meeting.
