American media have reported that the House of Representatives has approved a bill aimed at cutting off financial aid to the Taliban, recognized by them as terrorists. Timothy Brocheit, Vice Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, has stated that this decision was made to prevent American taxpayer money from reaching the Taliban. He emphasized that with the country’s significant debts, there is no need to finance enemies. This decision follows financial assistance exceeding $2.8 billion that the United States provided to Afghanistan after the Taliban regained control, which was presented as humanitarian and developmental aid.
